Terri Vispo-Cuba, LMFT

Clinical Director
Ms. Vispo is Consejo's Clinical Director and HIPAA Privacy Officer. She oversees the Mental Health Programs as well as the Quality Improvement Program. Ms. Vispo has a B.A. in Psychology from Florida International University in Miami and a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University, also in Miami. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Washington, a Mental Health Professional, and a Children's Mental Health Specialist with 19 years experience in social services.

Simbarashe Rusike

Finance Director
Mr. Rusike has a BA in Accounting and Finance and a minor in Economics from Seattle University. He has over six years of experience working in public accounting and in private industry. Mr. Rusike is a Certified Public Accountant registered in the State of Washington.

Romelia Perez, MD

Medical Director
Dr. Perez is Consejo's Medical Director and manages all psychiatric care. Dr. Perez is a Board Certified Adult, Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatrist in New York, New Jersey and Washington with over 20 years of experience working in medical and psychiatric clinical settings including the Eastside Behavioral Institute, Valley Psychiatry and Counseling, the Ruth Dykman Children's Center in Burien, Auburn Youth Resource and the Northwest Counseling Institute and Renton Youth and Family Services. Dr. Perez has also worked at the Schneider Children's Hospital in New York and the Cooper Hospital University Medical Center in New Jersey. She is a member of both the American Psychiatric Association as well as the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Stephen F. Chupik, BS

Data Manager
Mr. Chupik is Consejo's Data Manager and has been working at the agency for the past 10 years. He has a BS in Accounting from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He has 20 years of accounting and IS experience. Prior to Consejo, he worked at King County Mental Health and spent seven years as the Treasurer of a savings and loan in Cincinnati.

Maria M. Lopez, LICSW

Clinical Supervisor
Ms. Lopez is a Clinical Supervisor for Consejo’s Mental Health Department. She has 39 years of experience in human services, immigrant rights, adoption and employment services. Ms. Lopez is an Ethnic Minority Mental Health Specialist, A Children's Mental Health Specialist, and a Functional Family Program Therapist and has research and clinical management experience working with families with children. Ms. Lopez is also an instructor for the University of Washington's School of Social Work. She is on faculty with the Core Training Program for DSHS Aging and Disability Services in Multicultural Competence and Diversity Sensitivity. Ms. Lopez earned her Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington in 1991.

Torri Canda, LICSW

Mental Health Program Manager
Ms. Canda is a Clinical Supervisor for Consejo’s Mental Health Department.She has both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington. Ms. Canda is also a Mental Health Professional, an Ethnic Minority Mental Health Specialist, as well as a Geriatric Mental Health Specialist. She has 11 years of social service experience.

Stephen Singer, LICSW

Intern Program Supervisor
Mr. Singer runs the intake evaluation program for Mental Health services. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Spanish; he completed his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington.  Mr. Singer is also a Mental Health Professional and Ethnic Minority Mental Health Specialist. He has worked at Consejo since 2006.

Ashley Mareld, BA

Youth Program Supervisor
Ms. Mareld is the supervisor of the High Risk Youth Program in the South Park office.  She has both a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and Spanish Language and Literature.  Ms. Mareld has worked with high risk, gang involved, youth for 4 years.  She also has almost 10 years experience planning and implementing youth programming within a non-profit organization.

Hereri Contreras

Clinical Supervisor

Ms. Contreras is a Clinical Supervisor for Consejo's Mental Health Department. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Child Mental Health Specialist as well as an Ethnic Minority Mental Health Specialist. Ms. Contreras has 16 years of professional experience in the clinical field working for different systems such as: Foster Care services, Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Sexual Abuse, Juvenile and Mental Health Services. She has two Masters in Systemic Family Therapy with an emphasis in Marriage and Couples as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Psyhcology.

Zoraida Partida-Lopez

Operations Manager
Ms. Partida has been with Consejo for 15 years and has 20 plus years of administration experience, including a background in Human Resources.  She oversees Consejo’s operational needs in the main location and 12 satellite offices throughout Western and Eastern Washington.

Marcos Sauri, CDP, CDS II Marcos Sauri, CDP, CDS II

Substance Abuse/Chemical Dependency Adult and Youth Program Supervisor

Mr. Sauri is a Substance Abuse/Chemical Dependency Adult and Youth Program Supervisor at Consejo. He completed the Chemical Dependency Studies program at Northwest Indian College. Mr. Sauri has over 14 years of experience working in the recovery field and community-based social services. He joined Consejo in 2005 to team up in the launching of the High Risk Youth Program in South Park.

Celia Aráuz, M

Clinical Supervisor

Ms. Aráuz is a Clinical Supervisor for Consejo’s Mental Health Department. She has a master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University. Ms. Aráuz is also a Mental Health Professional, an Ethnic Minority Mental Health Specialist, a Geriatric Mental Health Specialist and a Child Mental Health Specialist. She has ten years of experience in social services. Ms. Aráuz also holds a bachelor of art in Psychology from the National Autonomous Nicaraguan University as well as a bachelor in Biology from the same university. carauz@consejocounseling.org

 

Jaime García

Executive Director

Mr. García has more than 20 years of experience in managing non-profit organizations and working with local government agencies throughout the Seattle-King County area. He has worked for the City of Seattle and King County managing Community Development Block Grant Programs. In addition, as the Administrator of Columbia Health Center for the Seattle-King County Health Department, he assisted in establishing Washington State's first school-based health center at Rainier Beach High School. Mr. García served as the Vice-President for United Way of King County's Community Services for 12 years. At Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, he managed their Pacific Director of Health Work Force Institute, an affiliate of the Washington State Hospital Association. He is a current board member of the Minority Executive Directors Coalition, where he serves as a Cultural Competency trainer and Co-Chair of the Public Policy Committee. He is also a Lecturer for the School of Social Work at the University of Washington. Mr. García holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington.
